Clark interviews actor, “Big Mouth” writer, 2x podcast host, and BLM activist Brandon Kyle Goodman (“Modern Love,” “Feel the Beat”). Clark and Brandon bond over their love for Oprah, and Clark asks Brandon how he makes space for compassion as he engages in high-level conversations about race. Brandon details going to high school in Rome, Georgia on the predominantly white side of town. Clark and Brandon each share their own stories about racist encounters with friends. Clark and Brandon discuss being queer Black creators, and how they both have to forge their own path in an ever evolving industry. Brandon reveals he declined roles that perpetuated Black stereotypes as he was coming up. Clark asks Brandon about the culture in the “Big Mouth” writers room. Finally, Brandon shares what is currently healing his mind, body and spirit—his Soul Balm.
