Clark interviews Vampire Weekend guitarist, Brian Robert Jones (previously toured with Gwen Stefani, MUNA, and 1/2 of the band Human Natural). Clark and Brian bond over their respective journeys with their natural hair. Clark asks Brian about his early music influences while growing up in the suburbs of DC. Brian details bombing in front of audiences at an early age, and how that’s shaped him as a performer today. Clark asks Brian about studying music at USC. Brian reveals that his big break came when he auditioned for Gwen Stefani’s band right after college. Clark explains why he’s a bad hang on tour, and asks Brian about his experience on the road (spoiler: tour life is not sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll). Brian shares how he’s staying creative during the pandemic. Finally, Brian shares what is currently healing his mind, body and spirit—his Soul Balm.
